Every month, I seek to provide a topic that’s fresh and relevant to our tribe. This month’s theme is entitled, “Am I a leader?” I didn’t want to write something cliche so I’m going to keep it super simple.
I truly believe everyone is a leader. Wait, before you throw stones at me, hear me out. Every single millisecond of the day, you have to leader YOURSELF. Every single person is making choices that empower themselves or disempowers themselves. Leadership doesn’t look like the loudest or most vociferous person in the room. It looks like the person who honors themselves and demonstrates behaviors that others may want to follow.
Throughout times in my life, I’ve questioned my leadership ability because I don’t seek to be in the spotlight. As I’ve grown older and more mature, I realized that leadership style is collaborative and when others around me shine, that’s how I demonstrate my abilities as a leader. Something beautiful happens when you operate in your own space: people start seeking YOU out.
As we enter into the last quarter of 2019, I want to give each of you permission to step into your potential as a leader. Whenever you seek the spotlight or operate behind the scene, you are allowed to be who you are. You are a leader. You leader yourself every single day, so don’t let you down.
Sidebar, John Maxwell has a lot of great books about leadership. If you want to explore this topic even more, here's a place to start: John Maxwell Leadership Store on Amazon. The first John Maxwell book that I read was How Successful People Think.
Now, I want to hear from you- how do you choose to lead? Do you know your leadership style?
As always, I’m here to help!
